JAMMU: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, inaugurated the Inter-Collegiate Volleyball (Men) Tournament 2025–26, a flagship sporting event designed to foster physical well-being, teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship among young students. This highly anticipated tournament serves as an esteemed platform for the students of the University’s affiliated colleges to display their athletic abilities, strategic acumen, and competitive spirit, by providing opportunities for rigorous participation and spirited competition, the tournament continues to play a pivotal role in motivating students to embrace an active lifestyle, while simultaneously nurturing camaraderie, unity, and mutual respect through the traditional and culturally rich sport of Volleyball.
Day One Highlights:
The inaugural day of the tournament witnessed a series of exciting and an exceptional display of skill and strategy by the participating teams. Each match was marked by competitive spirit and high energy, underscoring the growing popularity of Volleyball among students.

GDC Akhnoor defeated GDC Khilotran by 2–1 with set score (25–23, 12–25, 15–6)
GDC R.S. Pura defeated ASCOMS by 2–0 with set score (27–25, 25–23)
GMC Jammu (Para) defeated Dogra College by 2–0 with set score (25–18, 25–12)
MIET Jammu defeated GDC Paloura by 2–1 with set score (25–22, 14–25, 15–12)
GMC Rajouri defeated GDC Sidhra by 2–0 with set score (25–21, 25–19)
GDC Jourian defeated PHL College by 2–1 with set score (25–11, 12–25, 15–8)
PG Department JU defeated GNC Kishtwar by 2–0 with set score (25–13, 25–6)
GDC Samba defeated GMC Doda by 2–0 with set score (25–13, 25–9)
GDC Doda defeated GDC Mendhar by 2–1(25–22, 16–25, 15–12)
The entire tournament was organized under the overall supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, whose leadership and guidance ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the event. His dedicated team worked tirelessly to uphold high standards of organization, discipline, and fair play throughout the championship.
The matches were officiated by Sh. Mulkraj Sharma, Sh. Parvinder Singh, Ms. Pragya Sharma, Mr. Azhar Hussain Shah, Sh. Vikas Karlopia, Sh. Shubham Sharma, Ms. Nazish, Ms. Surviand and Ms. Kajal.
