KATRA: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University sports teams achieved significant success in the sports festival organized by IIT, Jammu. The universityteams secured gold medals in 400m, 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay, javelin and e-sports (valorant). The teams attained runner-up positions in badminton, long jump,200m and 800m. The event saw participation from eight different institutions ofJammu region and the SMVD university teams participated in 10 different events.
The teams were accompanied by sports wing officials of the university namely, Mr.Sudershan Sharma, Mr. Sumit Sharma, Sports Coach, Mr. Balbir Singh, Sports coach,Dr. Kamaldeep, Vice- President, Board for Sports Activities and Dr. Parvez SinghSlathia, Faculty, Incharge Sports and President, Board for Sports Activities.The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar congratulated the winning teams of theuniversity and encouraged the students to take part in such sports tournaments for holistic development.
