DODA: As part of the ongoing Poshan Maah celebrations, a series of awareness activities were organized at Community Hall Bhaderwah, aimed at promoting nutritional awareness, health education, hygiene and community participation under the Poshan Abhiyaan initiative. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from officials, Anganwadi workers, social activists and local women, reflecting the district’s collective commitment to building a healthier and more nourished society.

The programme was held under the overall guidance of District Programme Officer (DPO), Akhtar Hussain Qazi and in collaboration with the Child Development Project Office (CDPO) Bhaderwah. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Sunil Bhutyal was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Also present were field functionaries from line departments and prominent citizens of the area.

In his address, ADC appreciated the ICDS department for its sustained initiatives to promote nutrition, cleanliness and health awareness among women and children. He emphasized the importance of balanced nutrition, hygiene and regular health check-ups in creating a strong and healthy nation. He also encouraged community members to actively support the government’s vision of “Suposhit Bharat, Sashakt Bharat” — a nourished and empowered India.

During the event, a variety of engaging activities such as skits, poems, speeches and demonstrations were presented to spread awareness about Swachhta, PMMVY, Poshan, Breastfeeding and the significance of a balanced diet. A drawing competition was also organized among Poshan beneficiaries on the themes of cleanliness, nutrition and women’s health. The activities received enthusiastic participation and appreciation from all attendees.

CDPO, along with supervisors and Anganwadi workers, showcased several Poshan Maah initiatives, including recipe demonstrations. They spread awareness about nutrition and community pledge drives aimed at combating malnutrition and promoting healthy lifestyles. The programme concluded with an interactive session between the officials and community participants, followed by the singing of Vande Mataram as a tribute to national unity and collective responsibility.
