KULGAM: As part of the ongoing ‘Police Flag Day Week-2025’, Police in Kulgam organised a “Run For Unity” to pay heartfelt tribute to the brave police martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty besides visited villages and towns of martyred police personnel to pay homage for their supreme sacrifice.
The event flagged off by DySP DAR Kulgam Shri Mohd Ayub Rather started from Sanguspora Crossing to DPL Kulgam. A large number of school students, youth, and police personnel took part in the event with great enthusiasm and patriotic zeal. At the culmination of the event, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position holders were felicitated with Cash Prizes for their outstanding performance and other participants with certificates of appreciation to boost their morale.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Kulgam Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary-IPS lauded the active participation of the youth and highlighted the importance of such events in fostering unity, discipline, and physical fitness.
Moreover, Police Officers in Kulgam visited the villages and towns of martyred police personnel to express solidarity with their families and to pay homage for their supreme sacrifice. As a mark of respect and remembrance, portraits of the martyrs from Kulgam were displayed in their respective primary schools, the very institutions where they received their early education. During these visits, the officers also interacted with the families of martyrs, listened to their concerns patiently, and assured them that their genuine grievances would be addressed on priority.
