BANDIPORA: The Red Ribbon Club of HKM Government Degree College (GDC) Bandipora organized a Painting Competition today to mark World AIDS Day, a global observance dedicated to raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and expressing solidarity with affected communities.  A total of 14 students participated in the event, presenting creative and insightful artworks that reflected both awareness and social responsibility.

This year’s theme, “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response,” was thoughtfully represented in the students’ paintings, which highlighted the importance of prevention, support systems, community engagement, and the need for a compassionate approach toward individuals living with HIV/AIDS.

The activity aimed not only to encourage artistic expression but also to deepen students’ understanding of public health issues and promote youth involvement in spreading awareness. The programme was guided by the Principal, Dr. Mubashir Hamid Mir, who emphasized the crucial role of educational institutions in strengthening health awareness. The event concluded successfully, reflecting the college’s dedication to promoting health consciousness, social responsibility, and active student participation in meaningful community-oriented initiatives.
