UDHAMPUR:  Member Legislative Assembly Udhampur West, Pawan Gupta today flagged off a group of 40 farmers here from Panchari on a 3 Day exposure visit to KVK Bhaderwah under the HADP Project “Promotion of Commercial Cultivation of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants.” During the tour, the farmers would learn about latest innovations and technological interventions in the field of Agriculture.

MLA Pawan Gupta appreciated the Agriculture Department for effectively implementing the HADP initiative. He encouraged the farmers to take full advantage of the exposure visit by adopting the latest practices learnt during the tour.

The farmers would learn by seeing Demonstrations of farm experiments, plant varieties and trials being conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Floriculture, Cereals, Vegetables, etc.

The farmers will also interact with Scientists, extension staff and  have exposure to new ideas, latest cultivation techniques being adopted in the region. They will also gain knowledge about art of cultivating, producing and marketing flowers and ornamental plants and their products. The KVK is involved in research for the Hill/Mountain farmers so that best suited technologies are demonstrated. The Tour is being conducted under the close supervision of Chief Agriculture Officer Harbans Singh and SDAO, Ajay Sharma.
