• DC joins deliberations; Focus laid on strengthening agri-entrepreneurship

KATHUA: Mission Director Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP)/JKCIP, J&K UT Sandeep Kumar today visited District Kathua and interacted with local Krishi Udhyamis. Director Agriculture Jammu Anil Kumar and Director Horticulture Jammu  Gul Sayed, also accompanied the Mission Director during the visit.

During the field inspection, the Mission Director inspected Mushroom Cluster, Vermicompost Unit at Jandi, a Millet Restaurant at Pathwal, and a soil testing laboratory established in the private sector. He interacted with the beneficiaries and appreciated the entrepreneurial initiatives taken under HADP, acknowledging in particular the women beneficiaries managing the Millet Restaurant.

Interacting with the Krishi Udhyamis, the Mission Director emphasized the scope of livelihood development under HADP and encouraged them to strengthen their ventures by utilizing the support services of Kisan Khidmat Ghars for assisting the farming community. It was informed that 120 Kisan Khidmat Ghars have been established in Kathua district and are being operated by Krishi Udhyamis under Project 20 of HADP. The Mission Director assured continued guidance and support.

Deputy Commissioner Kathua also interacted with the Krishi Udhyamis and reiterated the district administration’s support for promoting progressive agricultural entrepreneurship. Earlier, at the office complex of the Chief Agriculture Officer Kathua, the Mission Director was received by the Chief Agriculture Officer, district officers and Krishi Udhyamis. District officers, officials and staff members were present during the programme.
