PULWAMA: Continuing its public outreach and awareness campaign, J&K Police organized a series of awareness programmes on New Criminal Laws and Cyber Crime at multiple locations across the district Pulwama.

The programmes were conducted at various venues including Government High School Tujan Pulwama, IGC Lassipora, Computer Institute Pulwama, and at Police Station Kakapora. During these sessions, officers explained key features of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), highlighting new provisions such as Zero FIR, e-FIR, e-Complaint, mandatory forensic investigation, digital evidence, organized crime & terrorist acts, mob lynching, and community service.

Participants were also sensitized about cybercrime awareness, safe use of the internet, and reporting mechanisms for online offences. The officers urged students and citizens to stay informed and cooperate with police for effective implementation of these laws. The initiative reflects J&K Police’s commitment to legal literacy, public engagement, and building a safer, law-abiding, and cyber-aware society.
