BUDGAM: In connection with the forthcoming Bye-Elections to 27–Assembly Constituency Budgam, the District Administration today organized a Voter Awareness Programme under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative at Bemina.  The programme aimed to encourage greater voter turnout and informed participation among the local electorate.

The awareness campaign was held under the directions of the District Election Officer (DEO) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, and was spearheaded by the District Nodal Officer SVEEP (Chief Education Officer Budgam).  The initiative particularly focused on polling stations identified with relatively lower voter turnout viz. Bemina Polling Stations E, F, G, and H.

The event witnessed active participation of the Zonal Education Officer Soibugh, Principal of GHSS Bemina, and other district officials.  A series of engaging and informative activities were carried out as part of the campaign, including Nukkad Nataks (street plays), awareness rallies, distribution of voter information pamphlets, and the installation of awareness hoardings across the area.

A large number of students, teachers, and local residents joined the awareness rally, which started from Khomani Chowk, Bemina, passed through various local streets of Ward 65, and culminated at Government Higher Secondary School Bemina. The vibrant display of enthusiasm and community participation reflected a strong collective commitment towards enhancing electoral participation in the upcoming bye-elections.

Speaking on the occasion, concerned officials related to sveep activities highlighted the importance of every single vote in shaping a strong democracy and urged citizens, especially first-time voters, to come forward and exercise their democratic right with responsibility and pride.
