DODA: A series of awareness programmes and NCD screening camps were organized at health facilities across Doda District to mark World Diabetes Awareness Day. The camps were organised under the guidance of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Om Kumar and the supervision of the respective Block Medical Officers. Every year, 14th November is observed as World Diabetes Day to raise global awareness about the prevention, management and early detection of diabetes.
During these camps, the health staff conducted screening of patients for diabetes and other non-communicable diseases. The health staff also generated mass awareness among the public about the aim of observing World Diabetes Day, highlighting the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle, regular physical activity and routine check-ups.
Additional informative sessions were also held to educate the community about dietary habits, risk factors and preventive measures to reduce the burden of diabetes in the district. The health department reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening NCD services and ensuring early diagnosis and timely management for the well-being of the community.
