RAMBAN: In line with the directions of Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Alyas Khan and Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu, Arun Manhas, the District Industries Centre (DIC) Ramban organized a series of awareness camps across the district to educate youth and aspiring entrepreneurs about various self-employment and industrial schemes.

Awareness programs were earlier conducted at Government ITI, Gool and BDO Office Sangaldan. Continuing the outreach, another awareness camp was held today at CSC Batote under the supervision of General Manager, DIC Ramban, Ravinder Kumar. The camps aimed to generate awareness about PM Vishwakarma, PMEGP, NCSIS, and other incentives provided under the J&K Industrial Policy 2021-30.

During the sessions, Functional Manager Swaroop Kotwal and Project Manager Kuldeep Singh interacted with participants and highlighted departmental initiatives designed to encourage local youth to become job creators rather than job seekers.  Educated unemployed youth were sensitized about multiple benefits, including subsidies, financial assistance under PMEGP for manufacturing and service enterprises, and other Central and UT-sponsored schemes.

Participants were also informed about PM Vishwakarma, a holistic scheme aimed at upgrading traditional skills through modern training and technical support. The outreach witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and aspiring entrepreneurs, who expressed their willingness to avail benefits under PM Vishwakarma and the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) implemented by the District Industries Centre, Ramban.
