JAMMU: The annual sports meet Anant Khel 2025 of Central University of Jammu was held with high enthusiasm from 13th November to 15th November 2025 with participation of more than 1500 students and 100 faculty members across various sporting events in the University Campus at Bagla Suchani.
Ms. Anuradha Gupta (JKAS and DG, Youth Services and Sports) graced the medal ceremony as chief guest. In her address, Ms. Anuradha Gupta stresses upon the importance of health, both physical and mental, in the life of students. She shared information about various conferences, discussions and events to be conducted by Youth Services and Sports to promote a healthy lifestyle amongst students.
Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of the university, graced the occasion as the guest of honour. He congratulated the medal-winning students, and underscored the growing sports facilities in the university. He advised the students to imbibe the true spirit of sportsmanship.
In her welcome address, Prof. Vandana Sharma, Director I/C, Directorate of Physical Education, shared the vision and spirit of Anant Khel. She warmly welcomed the chief guest, and thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his continuous and compassionate patronage.
Dr. R. Sudhakar, Assistant Director, Directorate of Physical Education, presented the formal vote of thanks. He thanked the chief guest, and the guest of honour. He thanked all Assistant Directors, Directorate staff, student volunteers, and participants for making this event a grand success.
In the ceremony, 51 gold medals, 50 silver and 30 bronze medals were awarded by Ms. Anuradha Gupta (JKAS) in various individual and team events such as cricket, football, badminton, volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, javelin, discus throw, shot put, long jump, high jump, aesthetics, table tennis, carrom, chess, marathon, E-sports etc.
The spectacular feature of the sports meet was the Vice-Chancellor’s trophy for overall best performance for a department of study for the best performance during the Anant Khel 2025. This trophy was won by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
