KULGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan on Saturday chaired a comprehensive review meeting focusing on the progress and effective implementation of key financial inclusion and social security schemes across the district here in the meeting hall of Mini-Secretariat. At the outset, the DC assessed the status of beneficiary enrolment under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY).

Lead District Manager presented scheme wise progress achieved so far from April 2025. Directions were passed to ensure maximum registrations in coming months to achieve targets well in time. The DC emphasized that these financial inclusion initiatives are vital for extending social security coverage, offering life and accidental insurance as well as pension benefits to economically weaker sections of the society.

The DC called for weekly monitoring of scheme-wise progress through the LDM office, with performance updates shared with the DC office.  He directed for building interdepartmental convergence between banks, Social Welfare, Labour, ICDS, and Rural Development for coordinated action. 

The DC Emphasised that no eligible beneficiary should remain outside the financial safety net, directed that the achievement of targets be treated as a priority governance deliverable. The meeting saw participation from key officials, including Programme Officer ICDS, CPO, CMO, CEO, ACD, LDM and other concerned officers.
