BUDGAM: As part of the ongoing Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, a rally aimed at enhancing voter awareness and participation was today kickstarted from Government Higher Secondary School Soibugh, Budgam. The event was organized under the overall supervision of the District Election Officer (DEO)Budgam, with enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and local residents.
Chief Education Officer (CEO) Budgam, Rifat Irfan Qadri, was the Chief Guest on the occasion and formally flagged off the rally. Speaking at the event, she emphasized the significance of informed and ethical voting, underscoring the role of youth and first-time voters in strengthening democracy. She urged students to act as ambassadors of voter awareness within their families and communities.
The rally, which witnessed the participation of a large number of students and teachers, passed through various routes of Soibugh area, raising slogans and carrying placards promoting 100% voter participation, ethical voting, and inclusive elections. District Information Officer Budgam, Principal of GHSS Soibugh, teaching staff, students, and members of the local community also took part in the event, expressing their commitment to ensuring an informed, participative, and transparent electoral process in the district.
The rally concluded at the school premises with a brief interaction session where speakers reiterated that every vote counts and that active citizen participation is the cornerstone of a vibrant democracy.
