DODA: In a major boost to the health sector, TrueNat machines under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) have been dedicated and installed at CHC Gandoh and PHC Assar in District Doda.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Om Kumar said that the installation of TrueNat machines will significantly enhance the diagnostic capability for Tuberculosis (TB) at the block level, ensuring early detection and timely treatment of patients. This initiative will also reduce dependency on distant testing centers, thus providing faster results and better patient management.
While giving details, District TB Officer (DTO) Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma extended his gratitude to Director Health Services Jammu Dr Hamid Zargar and Chief Medical Officer for their continuous efforts in strengthening TB control infrastructure. He further informed that, apart from Doda, three TrueNat machines have already been installed in District Kishtwar at District Hospital Kishtwar, Block Chatroo and Block Dachhan, marking a significant expansion of molecular diagnostic facilities in the region.
Block Medical Officer Assar Dr. Syed Mohammad Ismail and Block Medical Officer Gandoh Dr. Farooq Saleem also expressed their gratitude to DHS Jammu, CMO and DTO for making this possible and for their dedicated efforts towards strengthening diagnostic services at the grassroots level.
This initiative reaffirms the commitment of the Health Department towards achieving the goal of âTB Mukt Bharatâ by ensuring accessible and quality diagnostic services across the region.
