KATRA: The School of Electrical Engineering (SoEE), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, inaugurated a six-day AICTE-ATAL Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Design, Development, and Optimization of Electric Vehicles for a Green Future”. The FDP will run till 11th October 2025 under the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy 2025–26 schedule.

The inaugural session was graced by Prof. Pragati Kumar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU, as the Chief Patron and Inaugurator of the programme, and Prof. Madhusudan Singh, Director, IIIT Bhagalpur, as the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, Prof. Pragati Kumar,Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU, emphasized the growing significance of electric vehicle (EV) technologies in achieving India’s green mobility goals and highlighted the pivotal role of academia in driving innovation and sustainable development.

Prof. Madhusudan Singh,Director, IIIT Bhagalpur delivered the keynote address, sharing valuable insights on cutting-edge EV research, rapid control prototyping, and optimization techniques shaping the future of e-mobility.The session began with a welcome address by Dr. Jatinkumar Soni, Assistant Professor, School of Electrical Engineering, SMVDU, and Co-Coordinator of the FDP.

Dr. Soni extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and participants, including faculty members, PG scholars, research scholars, and industry professionals from various states of India and from abroad, joining the programme in online mode. Prof. (Dr.) Kumud Ranjan Jha, Head, School of Electrical Engineering, SMVDU, also addressed the gathering and encouraged participants to actively engage in the sessions to gain insights into the evolving landscape of electric vehicle technologies.

Faculty members of SoEE, including Dr. Bhola Jha, Dr. T. Chiranjeevi, Dr. Ankireddy Narendra, Dr. Prabhu Omer, Mr. Shubham Chib, Dr. Kamaldeep, and Mr. Akashdeep, were also present, marking their support for the event.The six-day FDP aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the design, development, and optimization of electric vehicles, covering advanced topics such as battery management systems, motor drives, charging infrastructure, and emerging green mobility technologies.

The programme features expert sessions from eminent academicians, researchers, and industry professionals. The event serves as a dynamic platform for faculty members, scholars, and industry professionals to enhance their technical knowledge and actively contribute to India’s vision of a sustainable and cleaner transportation future.
