- Baru Listens to the Grievances of Colonel Colony Residents
JAMMU: BJP Senior Leader and former JMC Councilor Sanjay Kumar Baru, along with BJP Shaktikender Parmukhs Bubesh Sharma, Adv. Rajan Radhey and local leader Jatin Sethi, listened to the grievances of the residents of Colonel Colony and adjoining areas at Talab Tillo Bohri in Jammu West Assembly Constituency.
During the meeting, residents apprised the Councilor of the difficulties arising from delays in the ongoing sewerage work in Ward 41. The residents stated that due to rainfall, numerous potholes have formed in the lanes where sewerage work has been carried out, making it difficult to drive vehicles or walk on foot. Some residents urged for the prompt cleaning of the drain and desilting of main Durga Nagar and Kabir Colony Nallah before the onset of the monsoon season. People also raised issue of upgradation of some lanes and drains.
After listening patiently to the issues, Sanjay Baru said Our nation's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is working tirelessly—day and night—to achieve the goal of transforming India into a developed nation. He said that as a councillor, he observed that we often fall short in fulfilling our civic duties. He noted that while the JMC has initiated "door to door" waste collection services but some individuals pile up garbage indiscriminately in various places. Furthermore, while some residents face a lack of access to drinking water, others waste it unnecessarily. He urged everyone to diligently fulfill their civic responsibilities in order to transform India into a developed nation.
Baru also ensured residents for early completion of ongoing work of sewerage project, desilting of said Nallah before rainy season and would soon see positive results, regarding the upgradation of lanes and drains, he mentioned that the matter had been taken up with the JMC authorities with the intervention of MLA Jammu west Arvind Gupta, and the required funds for the project had been approved in this year’s CAPEX budget.
Bubesh Sharma reaffirmed that public issues are always a priority for the BJP. He assured the residents that all the concerns raised were genuine, and the party would work to resolve them one by one. Onkar Verma, Babu Ram, Lokesh Bhagat, Viney Dogra, Brijesh Sharma, Kulvir Singh Chib,Brij Dogra, Kamal Kumar Former Colonel Colony welfare association Presidents Angrez Singh, Dr. Parmoo and local residents were present at the occasion.
