JAMMU: Nations Development Association (NDA), a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) with NITI Aayog, Government of India, in collaboration with MY Bharat Jammu under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, commemorated the 135th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar across multiple locations including Samba, Bishnah, Nagrota, Ramgarh, R.S Pura, Arnia, Akhnoor and other adjoining areas of the Jammu region.
Speaking on the occasion, Sushil Singh, Chief Functionary of Nations Development Association (NDA), underscored the enduring relevance of Dr. Ambedkarâs vision in contemporary society. He emphasized the importance of education, social awareness, and active youth participation in fostering an inclusive and progressive nation, while reiterating NDAâs commitment to grassroots-level initiatives across Jammu & Kashmir aimed at promoting social harmony and community development.
The programmes witnessed active participation from volunteers, youth, and local residents, who paid floral tributes and reflected upon the invaluable contributions of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a steadfast advocate of social justice, equality, and human dignity.
On the occasion, Principal Anju Bakshi of Bal Shishu Shiksha Kender Secondary School, Kalu Chak, Harvinder Singh, Branch Manager SVI Ramgarh, Happy Sharma, District President Samba, and Aakash Singh Charak, District President Jammu, along with other distinguished dignitaries and organizational representatives, graced the events and shared their perspectives on Dr. Ambedkarâs ideals and their relevance in the present era.
The events focused on promoting the constitutional values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, encouraging participants to contribute meaningfully towards nation-building. The programmes concluded with a collective pledge to uphold these principles and work towards building a just, equitable, and progressive society inspired by the ideals of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
