UDHAMPUR: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Udhampur held an Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC) meeting today at the Conference Hall, DLSA Udhampur. The meeting aimed to review cases of under-trial prisoners and speed up the release of eligible individuals who have been waiting for trial for a long time.
The meeting was chaired by Principal District & Sessions Judge /Chairman DLSA Kalpana Revo and attended by Sumati Sharma, Sub-Judge/Secretary DLSA; Prem Singh Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur; Sandeep Bhat Additional Superintendent of Police Udhampur; Mohammad Irfan Khan Superintendent District Jail and Pawan Gupta Chief LADC.
The committee reviewed cases in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Supreme Court and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), with a focus on prisoners lacking adequate legal representation or those who have undergone prolonged detention without trial.
