SHOPIAN: Continuing its sustained efforts to combat drug abuse and raise awareness among youth, J&K Police, in collaboration with the Civil Administration Shopian organized a series of awareness programmes under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan across the district. The programmes were conducted at various educational institutions in Sedow, Wachi, Zainapora and Shopian along with a special session at Police Post Keegam.
The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teaching staff and officials from both Police and Civil Administration. The initiative aimed to educate young minds about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
During the sessions, speakers highlighted the growing menace of substance abuse and its far-reaching impact on individuals, families and society. Students were sensitized about the legal consequences of drug-related activities and encouraged to act as ambassadors of change by spreading awareness within their communities.
Additionally, an awareness-cum-counselling session was conducted at Police Post Keegam, where interaction was held with individuals affected by drug abuse, focusing on guidance, support and rehabilitation. J&K Police reiterated its commitment to continue such awareness drives under the ongoing “100 Days Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” to build a safer and healthier society.
