UDHAMPUR/KATHUA: In a strong show of unity and commitment towards women empowerment, large-scale Padyatras were successfully organized in Udhampur and Kathua districts in support of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from Matru Shakti, reflecting widespread support for this historic initiative.
The Padyatra in Udhampur was organized from the Forest Office to the CPW Office, Udhampur, witnessing overwhelming participation of more than 500 women, showcasing strong support for the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. The programme was led by District President Arun Gupta ji and Mahila Morcha District President Nisha Mahajan.
Prominent leaders including MLA Devyani Rana, MLA Shagun Parihar, MLA Pawan Gupta, MLA Sunil Bhardwaj, Urvashi Gupta (State General Secretary, Mahila Morcha), Santosh Sharma (District Prabhari, Mahila Morcha), Prerna Nanda (State Vice President, Mahila Morcha), General Secretaries Babli Thakur Pilu Moti Pandita and Seh Prabhari mahila morcha Anuradha Gudda , DDC Ashu Sharma, Pinky Devi BDC Arti Sharma were present.
The massive participation reflected the enthusiasm and commitment of women towards empowerment and greater representation in the democratic framework. Similarly, in Kathua district, an impressive Padyatra was organized from Shaheedi Chowk to Mukherjee Chowk, with participation of more than 450 women. The event was led by District President Updesh Andotra and Mahila Morcha District President Sushma Mahajan.
The programme was graced by Adv. Neha Mahajan (State President, Mahila Morcha), Geeta Bhagat (State General Secretary), Suman Raina (Prabhari), and Radha Jasrotia (Seh Prabhari). Other key participants included Seema and Madhu (Mahila Morcha General Secretaries).
The massive turnout clearly demonstrated the growing awareness and support among women for the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which aims to ensure greater participation of women in the democratic process.
Both Padyatras in Udhampur and Kathua showcased the rising strength and unity of women, reinforcing the message that women are at the forefront of nation-building. The overwhelming participation reflects a collective resolve to support policies that empower women and strengthen democracy.
