The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

SAMBA: Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana, celebrated the festival of Diwali with great enthusiasm, devotion and festive fervour. The celebration commenced with a traditional Aarti of Goddess Lakshmi, seeking blessings for prosperity, happiness and well-being.

The programme continued with students narrating the significance of Diwali and highlighting the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness and righteousness over wrongdoing. The major highlight of the celebration was an engaging role play through which children were beautifully acquainted with the story and deeper meaning of Diwali, making the occasion both informative and memorable.

Addressing the students, Head of Institute, Ms. Anita Bhatia, encouraged them to imbibe the ideals of Lord Rama, particularly truthfulness, compassion, humility and respect for others. She also urged everyone to celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali by avoiding noise and pollution, opting for green crackers and spreading happiness through responsible celebrations.

Director, Mrs. Ruchi Charak, extended her warm Diwali greetings and emphasised that the true spirit of the festival lies in sharing joy, nurturing relationships and spreading light through kindness and goodness. She encouraged students to celebrate responsibly while remaining mindful of the environment.

The celebration concluded on a joyful note, leaving the students with the message that the brightest Diwali is one illuminated by goodness, love, compassion and environmental responsibility.
