The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

SRINAGAR: The National Institute of Technology Srinagar (NIT Srinagar) successfully launched NetworkX, its new national-level technology and networking platform, on 4th November 2026 at the prestigious Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Srinagar.

The First Edition of NetworkX 2026 was conceived as a unique platform to bring together students, researchers, academicians, industry experts, entrepreneurs and technology enthusiasts for knowledge sharing, professional networking, and meaningful dialogue on emerging technologies, innovation and future careers.

The event aimed to create a collaborative ecosystem that encourages innovation, promotes strong industry-academia interaction, and provides students with first-hand insights into current technological developments, industry practices and real-world challenges.

Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan - Guest Speaker

One of the most awaited sessions of the day was the inspiring lecture by Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, Founder / Director Kashmir World Film Festival and Chairman of ACT - For A Better Tomorrow, who was invited as a Guest Speaker at the First Edition of NetworkX.

Speaking on the theme 'Struggles & Achievements', Mushtaaque shared his 45-year-long journey of struggle, resilience, creativity and leadership - from a young theatre artist in Srinagar to leading one of the oldest and largest cultural organisations of Jammu & Kashmir. In his heartfelt and powerful address, he spoke about the challenges faced during difficult times, how he kept the cultural flame alive through theatre, how failure became his biggest teacher, and how consistency, honesty and passion can turn struggles into achievements.

He urged students to never give up on their dreams, to use technology with human values, and to become job creators rather than job seekers. "Struggle is not your enemy, it is your greatest teacher. Every setback in my life became a setup for a comeback. If a boy from Srinagar with no resources can sustain a cultural movement for 45 years, you - with technology in your hands - can change the world," Mushtaaque said, drawing a huge round of applause from the packed hall.

The First Edition also featured enlightening talks by other distinguished speakers including Jagdeep Singh, Mamta Sharma, Mir Sarwar, Farah Zaidee, Barkat Kour and others, who shared their expertise on technology, entrepreneurship, media, and professional growth. The event concluded with an felicitation of the speakers by NIT Srinagar. The organisers of NetworkX thanked Mushtaaque for his valuable contribution and said his session was one of the most inspiring and memorable sessions of the event.
