Police intensifies drive against illegal mining in Awantipora; 2 tractors seized, cases registered

AWANTIPORA: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and the unlawful exploitation of natural resources, Police in Awantipora has intensified checking and enforcement measures across the district.

During the drive, 02 tractors were seized in the Chersoo area for their alleged involvement in illegal mining. Accordingly, case FIR No. 262/2026 has been registered under relevant provisions of law at Police Station Awantipora, and further investigation has been initiated.

Police reiterates its commitment to curb illegal mining and protect natural resources. Strict legal action shall be taken against anyone found involved in such unlawful activities.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
