UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa today convened a meeting of district officers to discuss arrangements for the Independence Day 2026 celebration at the district headquarters.

The main function will be held at Government PG Degree College (Boys). Discussions covered seating, barricading, security, traffic, drinking water, power supply, sanitation, first aid, the public address system and transport.

Executive Engineers of PWD, PHE and PDD were directed to ensure seating, barricading, drinking water and uninterrupted power supply. Chief Executive Officer, Municipality, was asked to maintain cleanliness, and Chief Medical Officer to deploy an ambulance with doctors and medicines. District and Traffic Police would handle security and traffic management. Separate committees were constituted for the celebration.

Among those present were Additional District Development Commissioner Jugal Kishore, Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh, General Manager DIC Kishore Singh Katoch, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr Umesh Shan, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh and other district officers.
