• Also Inspects Flash Flood-Damaged Protection Bund Along Riverbed, Directs Early Restoration Measures

POONCH: In the aftermath of recent flash floods and landslides, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Sh. Ashok Kumar Sharma, today inspected various water pumping stations to assess the damage and review the status of drinking water supply.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner thoroughly inspected the functioning of the pumping stations and took stock of the water supply arrangements. He reviewed the impact of the recent natural calamity on the water supply infrastructure and interacted with the concerned officials regarding the restoration and maintenance of the system.

The DC directed the concerned Executive Engineer and officials of the Jal Shakti Department to take immediate measures for the restoration and smooth functioning of all affected pumping stations.

The Deputy Commissioner also visited the riverbed, where he inspected the protection bund damaged during the flash floods and assessed the condition of other flash flood-affected sites in the district.

He directed the concerned authorities to take prompt measures for the restoration and strengthening of the damaged protection infrastructure and ensure timely action at vulnerable locations.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the local public and listened to their issues and concerns. He assured them that their genuine problems would be addressed on priority and that all possible support would be extended by the district administration for relief, restoration and rehabilitation in the affected areas.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch,. Tahir Mustafa Malik; ACR, Muhammad Sayeed; XEN JPDCL, Aftab Ahmed; CEO Municipality, Khalil Ahmed Banday and other concerned officers accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.
