AWANTIPORA: Shri Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor J&K and Chancellor Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) to preside over the 3rd Convocation scheduled to be held on July 25, 2024 at the university campus. Prof. Anil Kakodkar, shall be the Chief Guest on the occasion and deliver the Convocation address, while as Sh. R. R. Bhatnagar, Advisor to LG J&K and Prof. Dinesh Singh, Vice Chairman J&K Higher Education Commission will be the Guests of Honour.

Prof. Kakodkar is a distinguished nuclear scientist renowned for his significant contributions to India's atomic energy program. Recipient of highest Padma Award- Padma Vibhushan, Prof Kakodkar has held important positions including Director of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, and Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Atomic Energy.

On this occasion, Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice Chancellor IUST shall present the University report. The convocation shall see over a thousand graduating students being conferred with degrees that includes twenty-seven gold medallists, 53 merit holders - 2nd and 3rd positions and 19 doctorates. Prof Romshoo said that convocation is an important occasion to honour the graduates and symbolizes a journey of excellence in research, academics, and outreach. He said that IUST is committed to providing quality education and imbibing entrepreneurial spirit, innovative approach and values among the students.
