KISHTWAR: In a heartbreaking tragedy tonight in the village of Badhat, Drabshalla, a sudden fire engulfed the residence of Khursheed Ahmed, claiming the lives of his wife Nazia Begum, his daughter Amana Banoo, and his young son Rizan. The family was inside when the fire broke out in one of the rooms, leaving them with no means of escape. Despite swift action by local authorities, the flames had already inflicted an irreversible loss by the time help arrived.

The community of Badhat is in shock and mourning the loss of this family. Heartbroken neighbors gathered outside the home, sharing in the grief that has left the area in somber silence. Many have expressed concern about the cause of the fire, which remains unknown, sparking calls for a thorough investigation.

Ex-Minister Ghulam Mohammad Saroori visited the District Hospital in Kishtwar, where he met with grieving relatives and community members. Deeply moved by the tragedy, he voiced his outrage and sorrow, calling the incident "nothing less than an act of human tragedy." Addressing a gathering of mourners and protesters at the hospital, Saroori demanded an immediate and impartial investigation into the cause of the fire. He emphasized the need for answers, stating, “This is not just an accident; it is the loss of innocent lives, and we must understand why it happened.”

Saroori pledged his full support to the bereaved family and the wider community, promising to press for accountability at all levels. He also assured the gathered protesters that he would personally follow up with local authorities to ensure a transparent inquiry, aiming to prevent such incidents in the future. As the investigation begins, the community remains united in grief and determination, hoping for answers that may provide some solace in the wake of this tragic loss.
