BUDGAM: Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather today inaugurated major development projects worth around ₹9 crore in Dreygam, Palpora. The ambitious projects included a bridge at Shali Ganga Nallah in Dreygam and a road project at Palpora, marking a significant step towards strengthening the road connectivity and improving transportation facilities for people.

The newly inaugurated bridge is expected to provide a major relief to the residents of dozens of villages, as it will establish an important connectivity link and reduce the difficulties faced by the people while travelling between different areas. The project is also expected to facilitate the movement of students, patients, farmers, traders and daily commuters.

Similarly, the road project at Palpora is aimed at improving the accessibility and providing safer and smoother transportation facilities to the local population. The development of these vital infrastructure projects would immensely boost the economic activity and strengthen connectivity between rural and semi-urban areas.

Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker emphasised the importance of developing basic infrastructure and ensuring that people in rural areas receive better road and communication facilities. He said that connectivity plays a crucial role in overall development of an area.

The local residents and representatives of various villages expressed their gratitude to the Speaker and the concerned authorities for completing the projects. They said the bridge and road had been a long-standing demand of the people and their completion would benefit a large population across several villages.

The people also appreciated the efforts of the administration and engineering agencies involved in executing the projects and hoped that other pending development works in the area would also be taken up on priority.
