In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

HYDERABAD, 13th October 2026: No dreams are too big, no innovation is unimaginable, and no frontier is beyond reach for the students of The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur (HPSR). Reinforcing this spirit of scientific curiosity and innovation, HPS Ramanthapur, in collaboration with SpaceAdhyaan, an ISRO-registered Space Tutor, and ISRO’s National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), hosted RISE 2026 – Rocket Innovation for School Excellence as part of World Space Week 2026.

Held under the theme ā€œIdeas | Innovation | Igniting Tomorrow – Explore, Learn, Innovate, Lead,ā€ RISE 2026 brought together 84 young scientists from five schools, who participated in the Working Model and Display Model categories. The students showcased innovative rocket and space models, demonstrating their creativity, scientific understanding and enthusiasm for space exploration. The event also welcomed students from various schools, offering them an opportunity to explore the exhibits and experience the spirit of scientific inquiry and innovation.

As a prelude to RISE 2026, SpaceAdhyaan organised a series of competitions to encourage scientific expression and creativity among students. Students of Classes 6 and above participated in essay and slogan writing competitions on the theme ā€œRockets & Satellites,ā€ while students of Classes 4 and 5 showcased their artistic skills through a drawing competition on ā€œRocket & Satellite Models.ā€ These activities encouraged students to explore space science through writing, observation and creative expression.

The event was graced by Dr. R. Srinivas, Head, Student & Public Outreach Division, NRSC-ISRO, and Shri Sunil Kumar Jangam, Regional Officer, CBSE, Hyderabad. Dr. Srinivas encouraged students to transform their curiosity into capability, inspiring them to pursue scientific exploration and develop innovative solutions. Shri Sunil Kumar Jangam appreciated HPS Ramanthapur’s efforts to promote experiential learning and innovation in alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The event was led by Ms. Padmasri Naidu, Director, SpaceAdhyaan, and Dr. Narsimha Reddy, Principal, The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur. Emphasising the importance of nurturing curiosity through practical learning, Dr. Narsimha Reddy remarked, ā€œAt The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur, we believe that education must go beyond textbooks to inspire curiosity, creativity and the courage to explore the unknown. RISE 2026 provides students with a platform to transform their ideas into working models, apply scientific concepts through hands-on learning and develop innovative thinking. Our collaboration with SpaceAdhyaan and ISRO-NRSC reflects our commitment to nurturing scientific temperament and encouraging students to explore emerging frontiers in science and technology. We hope this experience inspires our young learners to dream boldly, question fearlessly and contribute meaningfully to the future. After all, science turns curiosity into capabilityā€

Through initiatives such as RISE 2026, The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur, continues to encourage experiential learning and provide students with opportunities to discover their potential, explore emerging frontiers and become confident, innovative thinkers ready to shape the future.
