In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara,  Abhishek Sharma, today convened a review meeting to finalize administrative, civic, and security arrangements for the upcoming Navratri festival and the annual 4-day Yatra to the revered Mata Bhadrakali Asthapan, Wadipora (Handwara).

Emphasizing proactive preparedness, the Deputy Commissioner instructed all line departments to execute arrangements well in advance to guarantee a smooth, safe, and hassle-free pilgrimage for visiting devotees.

Key directives focused on ensuring uninterrupted 24/7 electricity and clean drinking water supply, deploying on-site healthcare teams with standby ambulances, and carrying out sustained sanitation drives across the Asthapan premises and along the yatra corridor.

Police and traffic authorities were directed to enforce multi-tiered surveillance, efficient crowd-management protocols, and designated parking arrangements to ensure seamless vehicular movement along the Handwara–Wadipora route.

To maintain real-time inter-departmental synergy and promptly address devotee queries or emergencies throughout the 4-day pilgrimage, the DC ordered the immediate activation of an inter-departmental Joint Control Room, reiterating the district administration’s commitment to facilitating an orderly, peaceful, and spiritually enriching experience for all devotees.
