In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

The programme aimed to empower tribal women through scientific poultry management practices and the distribution of poultry birds to promote sustainable livelihood opportunities. Professor Raihanna Habib Kanth, Director Extension, SKUAST-Kashmir, interacted with the participating farmers and women beneficiaries. She sensitised them about the importance of poultry farming, its potential for livelihood enhancement, and the adoption of scientific practices for better productivity.

Professor Azmat Alam Khan, Registrar, SKUAST-Kashmir, delivered an informative lecture on the conservation, care, and management of poultry birds. As part of the initiative, poultry birds were distributed among tribal farmers of District Shopian to encourage poultry rearing and support income generation at the household level.
