JAMMU: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Raman Suri today said that the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra crossing the landmark figure of four lakh pilgrims is a glowing testimony to the unwavering faith and spiritual devotion of people from across the country towards Lord Shiva. He said that despite difficult terrain, weather-related challenges and attempts by anti-national elements to create fear, devotees have turned out in unprecedented numbers, reaffirming that faith triumphs over every obstacle.
Congratulating all stakeholders associated with the annual pilgrimage, Raman Suri said that the successful conduct of this year's ongoing yatra is the result of meticulous planning, seamless coordination and tireless efforts by the union government, the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, security forces, local disaster response teams, healthcare workers, sanitation staff, volunteers and thousands of officials working round the clock.
He paid special tribute to the Army, Central Armed Police Forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, intelligence agencies and other security personnel who have been guarding every inch of the yatra route. "Their unwavering vigilance, professionalism and sacrifice have ensured that devotees can undertake the sacred pilgrimage with confidence and peace of mind. The nation salutes these brave men and women who remain deployed in difficult conditions to protect every pilgrim," he said.
He said the enhanced medical facilities, better accommodation, upgraded communication systems, efficient traffic management, sanitation measures and real-time monitoring have significantly improved the pilgrimage experience. The BJP leader said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Government has consistently worked towards making the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra safer, more accessible and pilgrim-friendly. He noted that substantial improvements have been made to the yatra tracks by widening vulnerable stretches, strengthening infrastructure and enhancing facilities at various base camps and transit points.
Highlighting the government's long-term vision, Raman Suri said that the proposed ropeway project will prove to be a transformative initiative for devotees, particularly senior citizens, women, children and persons with disabilities who are unable to undertake the physically demanding trek. "The objective is not to alter the sanctity of the pilgrimage but to ensure that every devotee, irrespective of age or physical limitations, gets an opportunity to seek the blessings of Baba Barfani with dignity and safety," he added.
He said that the growing number of pilgrims every year also reflects the return of normalcy, peace and confidence in Jammu Kashmir. The overwhelming participation from every region of the country has strengthened national unity and demonstrated that the Union Territory continues to be a symbol of India's rich spiritual heritage and cultural harmony.
Expressing confidence that the Yatra will conclude successfully with the blessings of Lord Shiva, Raman Suri said the record participation of devotees has once again established that faith cannot be deterred by adversity.
