JAMMU: The Road Safety Club of GDC Paloura, Jammu today organised a traffic awareness programme under the guidance of Principal Dr Savi Behl to promote awareness of traffic rules and encourage safe driving practices. Students from all departments attended.

Convener of the Road Safety Club Prof Vishal Magotra highlighted the rise in road accidents across the country and stressed the need for awareness, particularly among young drivers. He explained the importance of adhering to traffic rules, wearing seat belts and helmets, avoiding mobile phones while driving, never driving under the influence of alcohol and avoiding dangerous overtaking and over-speeding.

Co-Convener Prof Arun Sharma also addressed the students, noting that responsible road behaviour is essential for the well-being of society. He discussed real-life case studies illustrating the consequences of reckless and negligent driving.

The Road Safety Club of the college organised the programme. Principal Dr Savi Behl suggested that such awareness programmes be conducted regularly to educate students about road safety.
