JAMMU: Marking the sacred occasion of Jwala Chaturdashi the Pradhurbhaw Diwas (incarnation day) of Mata Jwala Bhagwati a soulful devotional song titled "Isht Devi Maej Jwala"was officially released today in Jammu.The grand unveiling was performed jointly by Dr. Rohit Koul, Director of People's Hut Foundation, and Sh. Keshav Chopra, Chairman of Samvedna Society. Speaking on the occasion, Sh.Keshav Chopra highlighted the importance of preserving cultural identity in diaspora communities, stating, "Music and devotion serve as powerful bridges connecting our younger generation with their roots. Projects like 'Isht Devi Maej Jwala' not only celebrate our sacred traditions but also ensure that our rich spiritual heritage continues to thrive across generations."
Echoing these sentiments, Dr. Rohit Koul commended the artistic team, adding, "Cultural initiatives of this nature strengthen the social and spiritual fabric of our community. I congratulate the entire team for their dedication to bringing such profound devotional work to the public and keeping our revered traditions alive." Mata Jwala (Zala Bhagwati) is revered as the Isht Devi (presiding deity) by numerous Kashmiri Pandit families, including the Peshin Parivaar of Agar Wagoora. On this holy occasion, artist Kanwal Peshin dedicated this prayer at the lotus feet of Maa Jwala Bhagwati, embodying the community's deep spiritual ties and devotion.
The revered Mata Jwala Ji Temple is situated atop a hillock in Khrew, Pulwama a town historically celebrated as an abode of ancient shrines and mystics. Accessible by a flight of stone steps, the sanctum sanctorum houses a natural rock formation (Shila) that symbolizes the divine flame and protective aura of the Mother Goddess. Devotees from across the region gather at this sacred shrine on Jwala Chaturdashi to seek her blessings for peace, liberation, and protection from hardships.The song centers around the moving verse: "Ishtt Deevi Chakh Meaj Zala, Yemi Kashtt Manz Moklawtam, Vatnaavtam Suli Manzilas, Advati Mattay meaj Traav tam."
The musical work features lyrics and lead vocals by Sh. Kanwal Peshin, an Eminent Writer, Poet, and Singer, alongside supporting vocals by Shriya and Simran (Gurtoo Sisters). The music composition has been rendered by Sh. Kuldeep Saproo, with the project conceived and directed by Sh. Abhimanyu Peshin. During the launch, the guests commended the efforts of Sh. Kanwal Peshin and Athrot Cultural Foundation team for preserving and promoting Kashmiri spiritual culture through music. Distributional details were also confirmed by the makers, who expressed special gratitude to the devotees from Tral, Pulwama, and the Vaikunth Mandali Ashram, Faridabad, for their constant support and blessings in bringing this musical offering to life.
