In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

DODA: Motor Vehicle Department, led by ARTO, Kuldeep Kumar, has intensified road safety enforcement across Doda town. The MVD team is conducting regular vehicle inspections, fitness checks and document verification drives to ensure strict compliance with traffic rules and prescribed safety standards.

The enforcement drive is being carried out on the directions of Transport Commissioner J&K Vishesh Paul Mahajan and Deputy Commissioner Krishan Lal, to improve road safety, ease congestion and promote responsible driving practices.

The enforcement team conducted inspections at various key locations across Doda town, including school zones, GMC Road, College Road and other important roads and public areas. Special attention was given to areas witnessing regular movement of students, pedestrians and other road users to promote safer traffic conditions and ensure compliance with road safety regulations.

During the drive, the enforcement team, comprising Deputy Traffic Inspector (DTI) Karan Singh Manhas, Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Rakesh and other field staff, checked vehicles for valid registration certificates, driving licences, fitness certificates, insurance documents and other mandatory papers. Vehicles were also inspected for compliance with prescribed safety standards and applicable transport regulations.

During the enforcement drive, the team issued 11 challans and imposed a cumulative fine of Rs.49,700 for various traffic and transport-related violations detected during the inspections.

The enforcement drive also seeks to identify unauthorised vehicle operations and curb illegal practices in the transport sector in accordance with the law, thereby strengthening transparency, accountability and regulatory compliance.
