SRINAGAR:  Social Welfare Department (SWD) through SANKALP-hub for empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti Srinagar in collaboration with J&K Tribal Research Institute Srinagar, today organized an Awareness and Outreach Programme at Tribal Research Institute (TRI) Khimber aimed at enhancing awareness about various welfare schemes, educational opportunities, and socio-economic development initiatives for tribal communities.

The Programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, youth, community members, and members of the general public from the tribal belt. The event served as an important platform to disseminate information regarding government welfare Programmes and to encourage greater community engagement in developmental initiatives.

During the Programme, resource persons and officials highlighted various schemes and services available for tribal populations, with special emphasis on education, scholarships, skill development, social security, and empowerment initiatives.  Participants were encouraged to avail themselves of the benefits provided under different government Programmes designed for the welfare and upliftment of tribal communities.

They reiterated the government's commitment to the inclusive development and empowerment of tribal communities across Jammu and Kashmir.

Interactive sessions were also conducted, allowing participants to raise queries and seek clarifications regarding various schemes and services. The Programme received a positive response from attendees, who appreciated the efforts of the Department of Social Welfare and the J&K Tribal Research Institute in reaching out directly to tribal populations.

The event concluded with a renewed commitment to continue such outreach initiatives for strengthening awareness, accessibility, and participation among tribal communities.
