Terms allegations by candidate from Khanyar-AC as false & baseless

SRINAGAR: The District Administration, Srinagar has rebutted the claims of one candidate from Khanyar Assembly Constituency (AC) wherein he has alleged that voters are not allowed to come to the booth in cars, terming them false and devoid of merits.

In an official communiqué, it was given out that “As verified by the concerned Magistrate, independent candidate Sheikh Imran was found using 5 vehicles with campaign posters while traveling from Brain Phollo to Polling Booth No. 33 (Middle School). The posters were removed, and the candidate was apprised about the MCC violation”. Meanwhile, it was informed that polling is proceeding smoothly and fairly across all stations in the constituency, with complete CCTV coverage.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

For me, he will always be the elder brother who believed in me and guided me with affection. I will cherish his kindness and lessons forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
