He said the Association has earned credibility through its Chief Patron G.N Var and commitment towards schools and students and stressed that the newly elected leadership must preserve that trust with honesty, dedication and selfless service. Hussain further said "Leadership is not about positions but about responsibility. The G.N Varās legacy built through years of sacrifice and commitment must be protected and strengthened.
Private education must never become merely a business; its foremost responsibility is to nurture responsible citizens and safeguard our children's future. Today's challenges, including drug abuse and social evils, demand that schools play an even greater role in guiding and protecting young minds. Together, we must build a united educational community that places children above every other interest,"
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. G.N. Var, NISA Joint Secretary and Chief Patron, PSA, congratulated the newly elected Srinagar district body and described the successful elections as another milestone in strengthening democratic governance within the Association. He said education is not merely a profession but a sacred responsibility entrusted by society and called upon school leaders to place children at the centre of every educational decision.
Dr. Var said "I congratulate the newly elected Srinagar district team and wish them every success in serving the education fraternity with integrity, transparency and dedication. The true purpose of education is to nurture responsible, compassionate and enlightened human beings. Every decision we take must place the child first. Child-centric education, quality learning, ethical leadership and continuous academic excellence must remain the guiding principles of every educational institution. Together, we must build an education system that prepares children not only for examinations but for life".
He further said that private schools working with honesty, commitment and compassion have made an invaluable contribution towards strengthening education in Jammu & Kashmir and deserve recognition as partners in educational development. Speaking on the occasion, PSA State President Bilal Ahmad Bhat said the successful completion of democratic elections across districts reflects the growing unity, maturity and institutional strength of the Association.
He said "Our transparent electoral process has demonstrated that the Association believes in democracy, accountability and collective leadership. The overwhelming participation of schools reflects the confidence of the private education fraternity in PSA's vision. Together we will continue working for the welfare of schools, teachers, students and quality education across Jammu & Kashmir".
Senior Trade Union Leader Mir Fayaz appreciated the contribution of private schools towards nation-building and said the education sector requires cooperation among all stakeholders to ensure quality learning opportunities for every child. General Secretary (Organisation) Mohammad Syed Wani said the Association has established an exemplary democratic culture through independent election commissions and transparent elections from the grassroots level to district units.
He said the newly elected leadership carries the responsibility of strengthening unity among schools while effectively addressing genuine educational concerns through dialogue and institutional cooperation.
Expressing gratitude after his election, newly elected District President Srinagar Adil Habib thanked the member schools for reposing confidence in his leadership. He said the biggest strength of private schools lies in unity and collective action. "No child should ever be deprived of education because of financial hardship. Our doors will always remain open for deserving children from economically weaker families. As educators, it is our moral responsibility to ensure that every child has an opportunity to learn, grow and build a better future, irrespective of their financial background".
Habib further said "I sincerely thank every member school for the trust they have placed in me. This victory belongs to the entire private school fraternity of Srinagar district. We face many challenges, but united we can overcome every difficulty. Education is the bridge between knowledge and reality and every great profession begins in a classroom. We will work collectively to safeguard the interests of schools, strengthen coordination among educational institutions, promote quality and child-centric education and ensure that every genuine issue of our schools is addressed through constructive dialogue and democratic engagement,".
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a renewed commitment by the Association to continue strengthening democratic governance, ethical leadership, institutional transparency and quality education across Jammu & Kashmir through collective participation and democratic values.
