JAMMU: Mission Shakti SANKALP HEW Jammu Social Welfare Department on Monday organized an impactful awareness session in Village Ban, Block Nagrota. The session aimed to educate and inspire students, school staff, and local women by introducing them to numerous government schemes designed to uplift women and strengthen their role in society.

Led by the official team of Mission Shakti, the session provided an in-depth overview of government initiatives tailored to support women’s welfare, financial independence, safety, and overall well-being. Key schemes highlighted included Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAS), Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), and Widow and Old Age Pension Schemes

In addition to these welfare schemes, the Mission Shakti advised women participants to avail vocational and entrepreneurship opportunities   through Skill Development Courses at ITIs and Polytechnics. The women were introduced to Business Startup Schemes, Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Tejaswini, Mumkin, SC/ST Corporation, and the Women Development Corporation (WDC), for launching their own ventures.

Mission Shakti Sankalp HEW’s session in Village Ban Block Nagrota  also resonated with the broader message of BBBP: empowering and educating girls is central to building a more equitable and prosperous society. By promoting the value of the girl child and highlighting women’s significant contributions to nation-building, Mission Shakti reinforced the critical role of women as equal and vital contributors to our country’s future.
