• Minga Sherpa distributes EPIC cards among new voters, leads ATV SVEEP Rally in Gulmarg

BARAMULLA: In a continued effort to promote voter education and electoral participation, a mega awareness program under the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative was successfully conducted at Tangmarg, even as heavy rain persisted.

The event was presided over by the District Election Officer (DEO) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, with enthusiastic participation from new voters, students, and local residents. The program included several engaging activities aimed at encouraging voter awareness for the upcoming Assembly Elections, 2024.

As part of the program, the DEO flagged-off a SVEEP rally, which was attended by the new voters and local community members marching together to spread the message of electoral participation. The rally echoed the commitment of the people of Tangmarg to the democratic process and the importance of high voter turnout.

During the event, DEO also distributed Election Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) to new voters, marking their first-ever participation in the elections and symbolizing their formal entry into the democratic process.

In his address, Minga Sherpa urged all participants, particularly first-time voters, to actively engage in the electoral process. He further stressed the importance of such awareness programs in ensuring that every eligible voter understands their responsibility and the power of their vote.

Later, the DEO led an exhilarating ATV rally in Gulmarg, joined by the CEO Gulmarg Development Authority, SDM Gulmarg and Nodal Officer SVEEP Baramulla, promoting voter awareness and encouraging greater participation in the upcoming 2024 Assembly Elections.
