JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Joint Secretary, Central Zone, M.K. Rana on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the BJP MLA from Nagrota, accusing him of failing to deliver on key development promises made during the 2024 Assembly elections.

Addressing a public gathering at Panchayat Mathwar, Ward No. 2, Rana alleged that despite repeated assurances, the people of Block Mathwar continue to face severe hardships due to the poor condition of basic infrastructure, particularly roads.

Local residents informed Rana that the Lamaki–Showa road has deteriorated badly, making daily travel extremely difficult for schoolchildren, patients, and commuters. They said the situation worsens during the monsoon season, when heavy rainfall renders the road almost impassable.

Criticising the BJP's development claims, Rana said the condition of the road exposes the gap between election promises and ground realities. He asserted that the people of Mathwar deserve better infrastructure and timely development works.

Assuring the gathering of his support, Rana said he would take up the issue of the Lamaki–Showa road with the concerned minister and push for its early construction and improvement. He reiterated the National Conference's commitment to highlighting public grievances and ensuring development reaches every corner of Jammu and Kashmir.
