AWANTIPORA: Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) will be hosting its much-anticipated Open Day on November 7th, inviting students from schools and colleges across the valley to explore the university’s academic and research culture. In line with the university's efforts to engage prospective students, different departments at IUST will showcase a range of new technologies, models, art and experiments. The visiting students will have the opportunity to learn and experience the latest developments in various fields besides touring IUST’s state of the art laboratories, studios, art gallery, and biodiversity museum, among other facilities.

Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice Chancellor, highlighting the significance of such initiatives, noted that they align with global practices followed by reputed institutions. He said that Open Day presents a unique opportunity for students to experience diversity, exchange ideas, and gain insights into the wide range of academic choices they can pursue and is essential in helping them make informed decisions about their academic choices and future career paths.

With more than 2,000 students from over 100 institutions already confirmed for participation, Prof. A. H. Moon, Dean of Academic Affairs, said that a range of engaging activities have been curated to make the experience enriching for the visiting students. Pertinently, in addition to departmental visits, there will be a Book Fest, Cultural Fest, and Food Fest, ensuring that the students have a well-rounded experience.
