SRINAGAR: Commissioner SMC, Dr. Owais Ahmed conducted a review meeting today to assess the installation and maintenance of street lights undertaken by Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL). The session aimed to identify ongoing challenges and develop solutions to ensure the continuous provision of these essential services for the city.

During the meeting, Dr. Owais emphasized the critical role that well-maintained street lighting plays in enhancing public safety and improving the quality of life for Srinagar's residents. He highlighted the significance of street lighting for the safety and its broader impact on urban infrastructure besides the well-being of the local community.

Commissioner directed EESL representatives to expedite the installation and maintenance of street lights across the city, urging them to take immediate action to restore full service, particularly as the winter season approaches. "Street lighting is vital for the safety and security of our city. It is crucial that we work in close collaboration to address any issues without delay," Commissioner stated.

He also stressed the need for a coordinated approach to address service gaps, ensuring that all areas in Srinagar are adequately lit to enhance night time visibility and security.
