• Ashok Koul leads cleanliness drive, meets prominent in Ramban

RAMBAN: BJP J&K General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul visited the ancient Shiv Ji Temple at Bawli Bazar, Ramban, where he paid obeisance and offered prayers for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Ashok Koul, joining local party workers and devotees, contributed to the cleaning efforts aimed at maintaining the sanctity of the revered shrine and preserving the region's rich cultural and spiritual heritage, participating in a cleanliness drive within the temple premises.

Ashok Koul, while addressing on the occasion, said that cleanliness is not merely a campaign but a collective responsibility and a reflection of society's values and discipline. He emphasized that temples and other places of faith are centres of spiritual awakening as well as symbols of the country's civilizational heritage, and preserving them is the duty of every citizen.

Koul insisted that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi transformed cleanliness into a nationwide people's movement through the Swachh Bharat Mission. The success of this campaign depends upon active public participation. Every individual must contribute towards keeping our surroundings clean and creating a society that is beautiful, aware, disciplined, and sensitive towards its cultural roots, he said.

Ashok Koul further stated that service to society, environmental consciousness, and the preservation of heritage should become an integral part of public life. He urged people, particularly the younger generation, to voluntarily participate in cleanliness initiatives and community activities to strengthen the spirit of nation-building.

As part of the BJP's Special Outreach Campaign, Ashok Koul also held interactions with eminent personalities of District Ramban to understand local concerns and exchange views on developmental and social issues. Those with whom he interacted included Madan Lal (Retired JCC Bank official), Manmohan Raj (Retired IT Superintendent), Suraj Parkash (Teacher), and Rajinder Kumar (Senior Citizen).

BJP Ramban District President Neelam Langeh and former District President Rakesh Thakur were also present on the occasion, along with senior party leaders and local workers.
