RAJOURI: Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner   Rajiv Khajuria, conducted an inspection of the district’s drug de-addiction centre to review its functioning and assess ongoing support mechanisms available for individuals battling substance abuse.

During the visit, ADC Rajouri emphasized the importance of expanding the centre’s outreach to ensure that a greater number of individuals in need of support are able to access treatment. He directed the centre's manager to take immediate steps to increase the number of clients and patients receiving care at the facility.

ADC also called for a comprehensive awareness campaign to inform the community about the resources available at the centre. "It is crucial that we not only provide high-quality care to those already seeking help but also create awareness within the community to reach those who may still be struggling in silence," he remarked.

Furthermore, he reviewed the current capacities; challenges faced by the centre, and discussed possible strategies for strengthening support and awareness initiatives in collaboration with local communities. District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), Mohammad Rahim and other district officers accompanied ADC Khajuria during the visit. The District Administration of Rajouri is committed to addressing the challenges of drug addiction through a multi-faceted approach, including preventive awareness, treatment, and community support.
