JAMMU: In recognition of the historic importance and national significance of the iconic song Vande Mataram, a grand programme was organized with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at the premises of J&K Police Public School Miran Sahib Jammu, today, as part of the nationwide commemoration marking the 150th anniversary of the National song. The event was held in consonance with the Government of India's decision to celebrate this momentous milestone across the country.

The celebration commenced with a mass singing of "Vande Mataram" by the students and teachers of the school. The entire campus echoed with the soulful rendition, filling the atmosphere with a sense of unity, pride, and deep reverence for the motherland.

Following the chorus, two students of the school Mr. Simon Singh and Miss. Radhika Choudhary of Class XII delivered speeches in English and Hindi respectively. Both the students eloquently highlighted the immense importance of Vande Mataram during India's freedom struggle against colonial rule. The students emphasized how the song served as a rallying cry that awakened the spirit of patriotism and sacrifice among countless Indians who fought for the nation's independence.

Shri Rajeev Sharma, Principal of the school also addressed the gathering, underscoring the everlasting relevance of Vande Mataram. He stressed the need to inculcate the spirit, values, and ideals upheld by our freedom fighters in the young minds of today. He explained how Vande Mataram continues to inspire generations and holds a place of highest honour, representing the values of patriotism, unity, courage, and service to the nation.

Thereafter, the speech of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India was screened in classrooms and Auditorium of the school. In his address, the Prime Minister reflected on the enduring legacy of "Vande Mataram", reminding citizens that it is not merely a song, but a sacred invocation to the motherland that united the nation during its darkest times. He urged the youth to carry forward this legacy with pride and contribute to building a strong, self-reliant India inspired by the ideals of the song. His words ignited the minds of students, instilling a strong sense of pride and responsibility towards nation's progress.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, wherein Shri Rajeev Sharma, Principal expressed heartfelt gratitude to Shri Sameer Sharma, IPS, DIG Armed Range, Jammu (Administrative Officer- JKPPS Jammu) for his constant guidance, encouragement, and support in making the event a resounding success.
