AWANTIPORA: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) hosted a vibrant Open Day today, drawing an enthusiastic participation of more than 3000 students and teachers from various government and private educational institutions across all districts of Kashmir.

Organized by the Office of the Dean Academic Affairs, the event aimed to provide prospective students a first-hand experience of the academic environment, state-of-the-art scientific infrastructure, and diverse learning opportunities offered by the university.

The university campus Awantipora and Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology Budgam buzzed with activity as students, faculty, staff, and university officers engaged with visitors, offering insights into academic programs, research, and student life at IUST. Various academic departments set up interactive exhibits curated and presented by their students, showcasing departmental strengths through drone technology, advanced camera systems, innovative product prototypes, digital displays, student research projects, and more.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. A.H. Moon, Dean Academic Affairs, emphasized the university’s mission to broaden access to higher education. ā€œIUST is committed to reaching every student who dreams of a university education. We aim to promote academic excellence, innovation, and inclusive growth through engagement and exposure.ā€

A key attraction of the day was a Food Exhibition, where students and alumni of IUST set up culinary stalls celebrating local cuisine and entrepreneurial spirit. The exhibition highlighted the university’s focus on practical learning and alumni engagement.
