SRINAGAR: Demonstrating unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of pilgrims undertaking the sacred AmarnathYatra, a prompt Casualty Evacuation was carried out by the Medical Evacuation Team of the Indian Army at Barari last night.

At approximately 2000 hours, Shri Ajay Kumar, aged 38 years and hailing from Ludhiana, reported feeling unwell while descending the yatra route. The situation was swiftly responded to by the NCO Incharge leading the Med Evacuation team deployed at Barari Marg.

The individual was immediately escorted to the nearby Medical Aid Post where he was administered appropriate medical attention and allowed to rest under supervision, as per established medical protocols. After receiving care and showing signs of improvement, Shri Ajay Kumar expressed that he was feeling well and subsequently resumed his descent along with his companions, unaided.

This incident once again highlights the Indian Army’s proactive humanitarian role in ensuring the safety, health and morale of all yatris. The medical teams deployed along the route remain on high alert round-the-clock to respond to any emergency, reaffirming the Army’s commitment to a safe and smooth Yatra for all.
