ANANTNAG: As part of the ongoing Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA), scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Anantnag, in collaboration with experts from various agriculture and allied departments, conducted an extensive outreach programme in multiple villages across the district. Program aimed to promote modern agricultural techniques and raise awareness about government schemes in the agriculture sector.

The outreach teams visited villages including Nagam, Hangul Gund, Lisser, Sagam, Zalangam, Sundbrari and Sagam and several others. They engaged directly with local farmers to understand their concerns and challenges, while also educating them on sustainable and low-cost farming practices, and introducing them to the latest technologies and schemes aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity.

Dr. Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan, Head of KVK Anantnag, addressed the gatherings and provided detailed insights into the various government initiatives available for farmers. He emphasized the objectives of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, which aims to empower the farming community through knowledge and innovation.

Senior Scientist Dr. Shabir Ahmad spoke about the importance and benefits of natural and low-input cost farming, encouraging farmers to adopt eco-friendly and economically viable methods for improved yields.

Farmers in the region appreciated the efforts of KVK Anantnag and the representatives from allied departments such as agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, and sheep husbandry, for reaching out to their communities and providing valuable support and information.
